My mother instilled in me a fierce independence and an unshakable belief that I can do anything I set my mind to. She taught me that when someone tries to hold you back, it’s not a setback—it’s fuel.
At 16, something in me shifted. I remember standing on the edge of who I was and who I wanted to become, and realizing for the first time that I didn’t have to fit anyone else’s mold. I didn’t need permission to be me—I just needed the courage to show up fully as the truest version of myself. That quiet but powerful awakening became a turning point in my life. It taught me that authenticity isn’t just brave—it’s necessary. That mindset became my compass, guiding how I live, lead, and lift others up along the way.
Today, I’m the proud mother of two strong-willed boys who challenge me daily to think differently, dream bigger, and re-imagine what’s possible. Their fearless curiosity keeps me growing and reminds me of the power of leading by example. That same spirit fuels my passion for helping others—especially women—find their voice, pursue their purpose, and embrace the strength of their own story. I believe every woman is a gift to this world, and I’m deeply committed to helping them recognize and live from that truth.
I rise because I must, and because I can. As the new Editorial Director of Empower Driftless Magazine, I bring more than a title—I bring a lived commitment to resilience, authenticity, and the unstoppable strength of women who dare to lead. I am honored to carry forward the vision of this magazine and help amplify the voices of those that are shaping the Driftless region—and the world—with courage, creativity, and heart.
