Learn how to make terra sigillata in an array of colors and create atmospheric qualities by applying washes and firing in our electric kilns. With guidance from Kate, participants will apply terra sigillata, wax resist, and a borax wash to the exterior of their pots to achieve depth and variation in their surfaces. We will also explore the coil and pinch construction technique that Kate uses to create sculptural pots inspired by rural Wisconsin’s landscape.
